thank you if you're a bad person press 3 so there's this scam that's not new but it is getting pretty popular lately basically what happens is the scheme Roo finds somebody on a job posting website you know a Craigslist or some kind of networking website and they email them to hire them for a job the unique thing about this is that the scammer will actually pretend to be an industry professional a friend of mine who's a producer received a text from a scammer saying oh I found you on blah blah blah website I'd love to hire you for this next project I'm doing so I had her tell the scammer to have them email her assistant Roberta let roll so the scammers have you fill out an application or paperwork asking for your full name your phone number your mailing address at a glance it seems pretty legit because the emails include the website their IMDB a Vimeo channel and in my particular case they even included a script like a phony script it's god-awful – like it's awful then they send you an actual check in the mail I never ended up receiving mine because I had it sent to like the local waste management facility which is like basically the poop Factory of Los Angeles um and for references I used Jake and then I gave them the number 2 state bar so Jake from State Farm so the scam works like this the scammer will mail you a check in the next site two to three business days you deposit the check then the scammer asks you to pay for something crazy in our case it was like a bunch of equipment so they'll send you the check plus the costs for whatever equipment we had to rent so the victim deposits the check and then they pay for whatever equipment the scammer asked them to pay for and this is usually done by like a wire transfer love them but the scammer will void the check after you've deposited it so it doesn't clear and you've already sent off this money for this phony equipment for this project that doesn't exist and you're kind of on the hook for however much money you just sent so some of the red flags are gonna have to look for are gonna be you know obviously a terrible spelling and grammar weird awkward sentences they usually over explain your job requirements too many details is usually like you know they're trying to compensate for the live their email address will never include the official person's comm or web address it's like impossible to get these people on the phone once they send off this check they'll be really persistent they'll ask you like over and over and over like did you get the check yet did you get the check yet did you deposit the check yet like we're waiting or waiting and they get really pushy because they want their money so um I obviously ended up messing with these people and got the scammer to spell out the word scammer so um here we go this is a call from FedEx shipping please enter your tracking number followed by the pound sign to confirm a pickup for Roberta let roll please say confirm your new confirmation code is s see a M m e R please state your confirmation code after the tone thank you if you're a bad person press three to repeat these options press for if you're an idiot press 5 if you commit check fraud press 6 to repeat these options press 0 now if you're cute

  1. All the facial and other expressions that you make and come natural to you, add a lot to the enjoyment of your videos. For example, at 02:45 when you say "I ended up messing with these people" and then you laugh a bit, the way you laugh, somehow prepares us of what is about to follow. This and other things that you do add up very well because they are sooo natural!

  2. Wowwwww! I'm watching this on my lunch and was just dying so hard LOL!!! And that mix is hilarious!! Oh man. hats. off. to. you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  3. this is a pretty common scam, it doesnt even have to be a real check, they do something similar for housing scams/rent scams, they send the check to you, you put it in your account and it says you have deposited and it takes a few days for it to clear, by which time the scammer says oh i made a mistake, can you send the money or part of it back. you do then the check is cleared and its a fake check.. its interesting that they have evolved it into acting. Most of my scams are from india, and i have a fake name and persona of a Hindi swear words but westernised pronunciation, or i have used Yuri S Canner.. if said fast enough its your a scammer.. you can have a lot of fun fake outrage, you get the drift.. you can have so much fun, i even did one with a "torture" scene in the background some actor friends did a skit for me, and i would play it while talking, "breaking" bones etc.. theres just so many things you can do
