KATIE CHATS: SMITHEETV, SCOTT WILSON, ACTOR, TAPFEST, THE ACTOR'S PLACE

I'm Katie almond reporting for Katie chats at smithy TV in downtown Toronto I'm here with Scott Wilson a member of tap fest so Scott let me tell me a little bit about tap fest it's a film festival but it's also meet up and just tell me a little bit about all the different things that it is and tap fast it went sounded by Yvonne who's the founder of the Toronto actors place it's like a weekly meetup for the last year and a half two years at meets weekly like there by about twice a week actually for like you know more like a rehearsal not so much training class but rehearsal for actors like new and old and just to give people a chance to you know grow in their craft so to speak and so when you go do you bring a script with you that you're working on or how does or do they give you something how does that work it more or less works with both some people bring like auditions are going for so they bring the scripts and some people just say have random scripts there for everybody so it's really good um were there any tap fest meetups in particular that you found really helped prepare you for a role or an audition and it's it's a bit different because I said with tap facets it's a lot of short stuff but it's just really inspired to see people that you know kind of moving you know not just training but actually doing the stuff so to speak and so it's like there's some great short films that have been released through this and short projects great so it's also a film festival so tell me a little bit about the programming that tap fest is looking for what types of films that you know you you typically include in the festival its overall as I said it's a chance for the members of the group to you know promote themselves so like pretty much as long as one member of the group is actually in the film that's the main prerequisite I guess it said they range from like the funny to the real serious dramatic you know so it's like a good mixture and good variety of you know the acting community and how often does the festival take place um this will be the third so like every like five six months or so and you have to pay is our membership for you to become a member how does that how do you how does one join how do we go about that are the top facets through run through meetup com and it's like at set weekly we meet for like it's just like five to ten dollars depending on the venue for the venue cost yeah so that for that's for that for the actual meet up to the top vest so there's no charge for that work we expect about 50 60 people so oh and where is the best place for us to find out more information on you as an actor as well as tap fest and how we can get involved in that online um for me like I have a page like Facebook like everybody does nowadays just Scott Wilson but also on Facebook the channel actors place or the actors place it goes by too they have a Facebook page but also to attend them weekly meetup on meetup com live what's called well they shorten it to tap like ta PE but it's the actors ways well thank you so much and congratulations on all your involvement in top and that's luck with your upcoming acting projects as well thank you thank you I'm Katie elman reporting for Katie chat in downtown Toronto thanks for watching the show if you like it please please subscribe also when I'm not interviewing I am an actress and if you would like to check out some of my acting you can click here thanks again guys
